Eva Campbell has painted various themes involving the human form over the years. Some of her paintings were influenced by living in Ghana, the Caribbean and Canada where she was interested in the identity and culture of the people she painted. She recently painted a series on contemporary Canadian military people based on images and ideas shared with her by the subjects in the paintings. In these she juxtaposes the technology, uniforms and work gear with portraits as a means to examine identity and subjectivity.
